End of july

A few days in the islands, alive again.  Improvising marks and sketches on the shore with simple natural elements:  earth and rocks,  trunks, wood and vegetal rests,  and also some useful manmade stuff found among the garbage carried away by the sea  (…we are still no far enough!).

Watching for colors and lights of the site,  being outside and looking inside;  wandering around,  following landscape with emotion.  Trying to catch it fast while we turn the sensors on,  with a particular eyes  (of the camera) to make our own scan of the scene. 

Searching signs and graphics, prints, impressions, formal patterns and behaviours…  Trying to understand every little shape as it was a piece of an anonymous writing,  sketched by subtle inhabitants of this world that we don’t use to perceive anymore,  elements and shades whose language is far from easy nor direct explanation.

 

Dies esgarrapats per viure les illes altre cop.  Improvisant marques i apunts a tocar de mar,  amb elements d'allà mateix:  terra i pedres,  troncs, fustes i fragments vegetals,  i fins i tot restes de coses artificials trobades entre la brossa que les onades han dut des de qui sap on :   (...no som prou lluny encara!).  

Observant llums i colors de cada lloc,  de fora i del seu endins.  Voltant per tot,  seguint el paisatge i l'emoció i provant de captar ben de pressa,  alhora que obrim els sensors,  uns ulls particulars d'una càmera per a fer el nostre propi escàner de l'escena. Volem signes, grafismes, petjades, patrons formals i posats que apareixen de vegades.  Són com escriptures anònimes deixades per subtils habitants d'un món que ja no acostumem a percebre,  ben lluny de qualsevol directa i fàcil explicació.
